Why should I hire Dream College Advisors?
We help all our clients in three important ways.
First, by working with us we bring your knowledge and understanding of everything involved with applying to undergraduate and graduates schools up to expert levels, We won't let you make novice mistakes or counterproductive decisions. Second, we give you information and advice that is tailored specifically to you and your unique situation. Lastly, we will tell you what you need to hear, not just want you want or hope to hear. By being 100% honest with you about everything, we help you focus your limited time, energy, and resources on strategies and tasks that provide the greatest impact in helping you achieve your educational dreams.
How is Dream College Advisors different from other college counselors?
Clarity.
Whether we are helping clients discover and select the right college programs as application targets or working with them on the admissions process, we always give clear, direct, and unambiguous information. Our evaluations, recommendations, strategies, advice and tips are specific and well explained. We not only tell our clients what we think but why we think it. Although our clients sometimes disagree with us, they never guess why we have told them something. It is this clarity that sets us apart from others and allows us to strongly impact the success of our clients in such a positive way.
Will you really get me into my dream school?
We can help you tremendously with all aspects of the admissions process at undergraduate colleges and graduate schools. We don't get our clients into any school. Our clients get themselves into their dream schools with specific advice and impacting insight help from us.
Does Dream College Advisors work directly with the colleges and graduate schools? No.
The schools, while generally helpful to applicants, have a different agenda than those seeking admission to their programs. An important example of this is that schools always encourage students to apply to their programs, no matter how qualified or unqualified they are. Schools do this without taking any time to understand whether or not it is in the student's best interest. They never consider whether the school is the right fit for the student, the time required to complete an application, application fees, and the emotional energy of hope that usually ends in disappointment. It is always in the school's interest for a student to apply to their programs since application fees are a revenue source for the schools, and more applications improve a school’s “exclusivity” or “admissions yield” (the total number of students admitted / total applicants).
The Dream College Advisors Network has members who have deep relationships with individuals at various institutions. We take advantage of these relationships to maintain our proprietary intelligence on programs. However, these relationships are always informal on a person-to-person level and not organization-to-organization in anyway.
It is our job to help our clients successfully navigate the maze of admissions obstacles each school erects. Admissions Offices develop these obstacles, not because they don't want students to attend their programs, but to commoditize students (real people) into applicants (a single sheet of paper summary) for management simplification. We strive to manipulate and subconsciously influence programs using these very barriers to transform our clients from applicants to admitted students.
How do I know Dream College Advisors are the experts I need?
All of our advisors have years of significant experience counseling students interested in attending undergraduate colleges and graduate schools. This significant experience has been earned by our advisors who are (or who have been): college admissions professionals, faculty members, high school guidance counselors, independent college counselors, alumni interviewers, and professional writers/editors/reporters. Some of our advisors can claim experience in more than one of these roles.
